Kashif qualified in 2001 from the University of Glasgow and has been practicing as a GP since 2005. He is currently a partner at the Nithsdale Merryvale Group and primary care lead for Diabetes in NHS Glasgow. He is a GP trainer and a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion.
Kashif has an interest in Obesity and hold SCOPE (Strategic Centre for Obesity Professional Education) certification.
Consultant Pharmacist, Leeds CCG
Hannah Beba has recently taken up the post of Consultant Pharmacist at Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group. Hannah is Co-Chair of the United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association’s Diabetes and Endocrine Committee and sits on the Diabetes UK committee of healthcare professionals.
Hannah was a 2018 Diabetes UK clinical champion and is an associate lecturer at Newcastle University.
Hannah retains a predominantly clinical role and has been independently practicing in clinics for many years. Integrated care and how this might help deliver more holistic care to people living with diabetes closer to home is of great interest to her.

GPwSI in Diabetes, Cardiff
Sarah is a GP in Cardiff with a special interest in diabetes. She qualified at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2003 and initially trained as a physician, before making the move into general practice and never looked back! She has continued her interest in diabetes and presents regularly on the subject to colleagues at local and national meetings. She is passionate about general practice, particularly great quality diabetes care in the primary care setting.
She is the Clinical Director for Diabetes in primary care for Cardiff and Vale UHB and All Wales lead for diabetes in primary care. She is a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion, Primary Care Diabetes Society committee member and a presenter for NB Medical Hot Topics, leading their diabetes course.
GP and Medical Broadcaster
Sarah Jarvis trained at Cambridge and Oxford universities and became a partner in an inner-city general practice in 1990. She was a GP trainer for 25 years.
She is an active medical writer and broadcaster, and is the BBC Radio 2 doctor and the doctor to ITV lunchtime news. Besides these roles, she has been a regular contributor to a variety of medical journals including Update, Doctor, Practice Nurse and the British Journal of Cardiology. Dr Jarvis is past-chair of the Health Care Committee of HEART UK – the cholesterol charity, and is a member of the advisory board for the British Journal of Cardiology. Dr Jarvis has a particular interest in cardiovascular disease, diabetes and women’s health.
In 2019, Sarah was appointed MBE for services to general practice and public understanding of health. In 2021, she was appointed Visiting Professor of General Practice at the University of Huddersfield.
